2-6 死・復活・新命令(26-28）

1 When Jesus had finished saying all these things, he said to his disciples,

2 “As you know, Passover begins in two days, and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.”

3 At that same time the leading priests and elders were meeting at the residence of Caiaphas, the high priest,

4 plotting how to capture Jesus secretly and kill him.

5 “But not during the Passover celebration,” they agreed, “or the people may riot.”

1 イエスは、これらのことをすべて言い終わると、弟子たちに言われた。

2 「知ってのとおり、過越の祭りが二日後に始まり、人の子は十字架につけられるために引き渡されるのです」。

3 そのころ、大祭司カイアファの屋敷では、有力な祭司たちや長老たちが集まっていた。

14 Then Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve disciples, went to the leading priests

15 and asked, “How much will you pay me to betray Jesus to you?” And they gave him thirty pieces of silver.

16 From that time on, Judas began looking for an opportunity to betray Jesus.

14 そこで、十二弟子の一人イスカリオテのユダが、有力な祭司たちのところへ行き

15 「イエスをあなたがたに裏切るのに、いくら払いますか」と尋ねた。すると、彼らは彼に銀貨三十枚を渡した。

16 そのときから、ユダはイエスを裏切る機会をうかがうようになった。

17 On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Where do you want us to prepare the Passover meal for you?”

18 “As you go into the city,” he told them, “you will see a certain man. Tell him, ‘The Teacher says: My time has come, and I will eat the Passover meal with my disciples at your house.’”

19 So the disciples did as Jesus told them and prepared the Passover meal there.

20 When it was evening, Jesus sat down at the table with the twelve disciples.

21 While they were eating, he said, “I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me.”

22 Greatly distressed, each one asked in turn, “Am I the one, Lord?”

23 He replied, “One of you who has just eaten from this bowl with me will betray me.

24 For the Son of Man must die, as the Scriptures declared long ago. But how terrible it will be for the one who betrays him. It would be far better for that man if he had never been born!”

25 Judas, the one who would betray him, also asked, “Rabbi, am I the one?”  And Jesus told him, “You have said it.”

26 As they were eating, Jesus took some bread and blessed it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take this and eat it, for this is my body.”

27 And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, “Each of you drink from it,

28 for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many.

29 Mark my words — I will not drink wine again until the day I drink it new with you in my Father’s Kingdom.”

30 Then they sang a hymn and went out to the Mount of Olives.

17 種なしパンの祭りの初日に、弟子たちがイエスのところに来て、”過越の食事をどこで用意すればよいのですか “と尋ねた。

18 「町へ行くと、ある人に出会うだろう。彼に言いなさい、『先生がおっしゃっています。私の時が来ましたので、あなたの家で弟子たちと一緒に過越の食事をします』。

19 そこで、弟子たちは、イエスに言われたとおりにして、そこで過越の食事を用意した。

20 夕方になると、イエスは十二人の弟子たちと食卓を囲んだ。

21 食事を取っているとき、イエスは言われた。「実は、あなたがたのうちのひとりが私を裏切るのです」

22 大いなる戸惑いで、ひとりひとり順番に、”主よ、わたしがそうでしょうか “と尋ねた。

23 彼は言った、「あなたがたのうち、わたしと一緒にこの鉢から食べたばかりの者が、わたしを裏切るでしょう。

24 人の子は、昔、聖書が宣言したように、死ななければならないからである。しかし、彼を裏切る者は、どんなにひどい目に遭うことでしょう。その人にとっては、生まれてこないほうがずっとましであす。”

25 彼を裏切ることになる者が、尋ねた。「ラビ、私がその男ですか？」そしてイエスは彼に言われた、「あなたが裏切りる者です。」

26 弟子たちが食事をしていると、イエスはパンを取り、それを祝福された。そして、それを裂いて弟子たちに渡し、「これを取って食べなさい。これはわたしのからだである」と言われた。

27 また、ぶどう酒の杯を取り、神に感謝された。そして、それを弟子たちに与えて言われた、「あなたがたは、それぞれそれから飲みなさい。

28 これは、私の血です。私の血で神と神の民との間の契約を確認するのです。これは、多くの人の罪を赦すための犠牲として注がれるのです。

29 私の言葉を覚えておきなさい。父の王国で、あなたがたとともに新しいぶどう酒を飲む日まで、私は二度とぶどう酒を飲まない。

31 On the way, Jesus told them, “Tonight all of you will desert me. For the Scriptures say, ‘God will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’

32 But after I have been raised from the dead, I will go ahead of you to Galilee and meet you there.”

33 Peter declared, “Even if everyone else deserts you, I will never desert you.”

34 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, Peter — this very night, before the rooster crows, you will deny three times that you even know me.”

35 “No!” Peter insisted. “Even if I have to die with you, I will never deny you!” And all the other disciples vowed the same.

31 途中で、イエスは彼らに言われた、「今夜、あなたがたはみな私を見捨てるだろう。聖書には、『神は羊飼いを打たれ、群れの羊は散らされる』と書いてあるからだ。

35 “いやだ!” ペテロは言い張った。「たとえ、あなたと一緒に死ななければならないとしても、私は決してあなたを否定しません。他の弟子たちも皆、同じように誓った。

36 Then Jesus went with them to the olive grove called Gethsemane, and he said, “Sit here while I go over there to pray.”

37 He took Peter and Zebedee’s two sons, James and John, and he became anguished and distressed.

38 He told them, “My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.”

39 He went on a little farther and bowed with his face to the ground, praying, “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”

40 Then he returned to the disciples and found them asleep. He said to Peter, “Couldn’t you watch with me even one hour?

41 Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!”

42 Then Jesus left them a second time and prayed, “My Father! If this cup cannot be taken away unless I drink it, your will be done.”

43 When he returned to them again, he found them sleeping, for they couldn’t keep their eyes open.

44 So he went to pray a third time, saying the same things again.

45 Then he came to the disciples and said, “Go ahead and sleep. Have your rest. But look — the time has come. The Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

46 Up, let’s be going. Look, my betrayer is here!”

36 それから、イエスは彼らと一緒にゲッセマネと呼ばれるオリーブ園に行き、”わたしがあそこで祈っている間、ここに座っていなさい “と言われた。

37 ペテロとゼベダイの二人の息子ヤコブとヨハネを連れて行かれ、苦悶の表情になられた。

40 それから、弟子たちのところに戻られたが、彼らが眠っているのを見つけられた。ペテロに言った、「一時間でもいいから、わたしといっしょに見ていられなかったのですか。

41 誘惑に負けないように、見張っていて、祈っていなさい。霊は喜んでいるが、からだは弱いからである。

42 それから、イエスは二度目に彼らから離れ、こう祈られた、「わが父よ。もし、この杯が、わたしが飲まなければ取り去ることができないものであるなら、あなたの御心がなりますように。”と。

43 イエスが再び彼らのところに戻ると、彼らが目を開けていられず、眠っていた。

44 そこで、彼は三度目に祈りに行き、また同じことを言った。

45 それから、弟子たちのところに来て言われた、「どうぞ、お眠りください。休んでいなさい。しかし、見よ、時は来た。人の子は罪人の手に裏切られるのです。

46 上がって、さあ、行こう。見よ、私の裏切り者が来たぞ。

・その後、2000年間続く神の怒り？

47 And even as Jesus said this, Judas, one of the twelve disciples, arrived with a crowd of men armed with swords and clubs. They had been sent by the leading priests and elders of the people.

48 The traitor, Judas, had given them a prearranged signal: “You will know which one to arrest when I greet him with a kiss.”

49 So Judas came straight to Jesus. “Greetings, Rabbi!” he exclaimed and gave him the kiss.

50 Jesus said, “My friend, go ahead and do what you have come for.”  Then the others grabbed Jesus and arrested him.

51 But one of the men with Jesus pulled out his sword and struck the high priest’s slave, slashing off his ear.

52 “Put away your sword,” Jesus told him. “Those who use the sword will die by the sword.

53 Don’t you realize that I could ask my Father for thousands of angels to protect us, and he would send them instantly?

54 But if I did, how would the Scriptures be fulfilled that describe what must happen now?”

55 Then Jesus said to the crowd, “Am I some dangerous revolutionary, that you come with swords and clubs to arrest me? Why didn’t you arrest me in the Temple? I was there teaching every day.

56 But this is all happening to fulfill the words of the prophets as recorded in the Scriptures.” At that point, all the disciples deserted him and fled.

47 イエスがこう言われたときにも、十二弟子のひとりであるユダが、剣と棍棒で武装した男たちの群れを引き連れてやって来た。彼らは、祭司長や民衆の長老たちによって遣わされたものであった。

48 裏切り者のユダは、あらかじめ彼らに合図を与えていたのである。「私が接吻して出迎えるとき、だれを逮捕すべきか、あなたがたにわかるだろう」。

49 そこで、ユダはまっすぐイエスのところに来た。「やあ、ラビ！」と叫んで接吻をした。

50 イエスは言われた、「友よ、さあどうぞ、来た目的を実行しなさい」。 すると、ほかの者たちがイエスをつかまえて、逮捕した。

51 ところが、イエスと一緒にいた者のひとりが剣を抜き、大祭司の奴隷を打って、その耳を切り落とした。

52 「剣を捨てなさい」と、イエスは彼に言われた。「剣を使う者は剣で死ぬのだ。

53 わたしが父に、わたしたちを守ってくれる何千人もの天使を頼むことができ、父は即座にそれを送ってくださるということが、わからないのでしょうか。

54 しかし、もしそうしたら、今起こらなければならないことを述べた聖書が、どのように成就するでしょうか。”

55 そこでイエスは群衆に言われた、「私を逮捕するために剣や棍棒を持って来るとは、私は危険な革命家なのか。なぜ、神殿で私を逮捕しなかったのですか。わたしは毎日そこで教えていたのです。

56 しかし、これはすべて、聖書に記されている預言者たちの言葉を成就するために起こっているのです」。そのとき、弟子たちは皆、彼を見捨てて逃げ出した。

57 Then the people who had arrested Jesus led him to the home of Caiaphas, the high priest, where the teachers of religious law and the elders had gathered.

58 Meanwhile, Peter followed him at a distance and came to the high priest’s courtyard. He went in and sat with the guards and waited to see how it would all end.

59 Inside, the leading priests and the entire high council were trying to find witnesses who would lie about Jesus, so they could put him to death.

60 But even though they found many who agreed to give false witness, they could not use anyone’s testimony. Finally, two men came forward

61 who declared, “This man said, ‘I am able to destroy the Temple of God and rebuild it in three days.’”

62 Then the high priest stood up and said to Jesus, “Well, aren’t you going to answer these charges? What do you have to say for yourself?”

63 But Jesus remained silent. Then the high priest said to him, “I demand in the name of the living God — tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”

64 Jesus replied, “You have said it. And in the future you will see the Son of Man seated in the place of power at God’s right hand and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

65 Then the high priest tore his clothing to show his horror and said, “Blasphemy! Why do we need other witnesses? You have all heard his blasphemy.

66 What is your verdict?”  “Guilty!” they shouted. “He deserves to die!”

67 Then they began to spit in Jesus’ face and beat him with their fists. And some slapped him,

68 jeering, “Prophesy to us, you Messiah! Who hit you that time?”

57 それから、イエスを逮捕した人々は、イエスを大祭司カイアファの家に連れて行き、そこには宗教律法の教師たちや長老たちが集まっていた。

58 一方、ペテロは遠くから彼を追い、大祭司の中庭に来た。彼は中に入って、衛兵と一緒に座り、事の成り行きを見守った。

59 中庭では、祭司長たちや大評議会の全員が、イエスについて嘘をつく証人を探して、イエスを死刑にしようと考えていた。

60 しかし、偽りの証言をすることに同意する者をたくさん見つけても、だれの証言も利用することができなかった。ついに、二人の男が進み出て

61 その人たちは、「この人は、『私は神の宮を破壊し、三日のうちに再建することができる』と言った」と宣言した。

62 そこで、大祭司が立ち上がってイエスに言った、「さて、あなたはこの告発に答えるつもりはないのですか。何か言い残すことはないのか。”

63 しかし、イエスは黙ったままであった。そこで大祭司は彼に言った、「生ける神の名において要求する。”あなたがメシア、すなわち神の子であるかどうかを言え”」。

64 イエスは答えた、「あなたはそれを言ったのです。そして、将来、人の子が神の右の力のある所に座し、天の雲に乗って来るのを見ることになる。”

65 そこで、大祭司は衣服を裂いて恐ろしさを表し、「神への冒涜だ！」と言った。なぜ、ほかの証人が必要なのですか。あなた方は皆、彼の冒涜を聞いたのです。

66 あなたがたの評決はどうなるのか。” “有罪だ！”と彼らは叫んだ。”彼は死に値する！”

67 それから、イエスの顔に唾を吐きかけ、こぶしで殴り始めた。また、ある者は彼を平手打ちした。

68 「メシアよ、われわれに預言せよ。メシアよ、われわれに預言せよ。

69 Meanwhile, Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard. A servant girl came over and said to him, “You were one of those with Jesus the Galilean.”

70 But Peter denied it in front of everyone. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he said.

71 Later, out by the gate, another servant girl noticed him and said to those standing around, “This man was with Jesus of Nazareth.”

72 Again Peter denied it, this time with an oath. “I don’t even know the man,” he said.

73 A little later some of the other bystanders came over to Peter and said, “You must be one of them; we can tell by your Galilean accent.”

74 Peter swore, “A curse on me if I’m lying — I don’t know the man!” And immediately the rooster crowed.

75 Suddenly, Jesus’ words flashed through Peter’s mind: “Before the rooster crows, you will deny three times that you even know me.” And he went away, weeping bitterly.

69 一方、ペテロは外の中庭に座っていた。召使の娘がやって来て、”あなたはガリラヤ人イエスと一緒にいた者のひとりです “と言った。

70 しかし、ペテロは皆の前でそれを否定した。”何のことかわかりません “と言った。

71 その後、門のそばに出たとき、別の召使の娘が彼に気づき、周りに立っている人々に、”この人はナザレのイエスと一緒にいた “と言った。

72 ペテロは、またしても、誓って否定した。”私はその人を知りもしません “と言った。

1 Very early in the morning the leading priests and the elders of the people met again to lay plans for putting Jesus to death.

2 Then they bound him, led him away, and took him to Pilate, the Roman governor.

3 When Judas, who had betrayed him, realized that Jesus had been condemned to die, he was filled with remorse. So he took the thirty pieces of silver back to the leading priests and the elders.

4 “I have sinned,” he declared, “for I have betrayed an innocent man.”  “What do we care?” they retorted. “That’s your problem.”

5 Then Judas threw the silver coins down in the Temple and went out and hanged himself.

6 The leading priests picked up the coins. “It wouldn’t be right to put this money in the Temple treasury,” they said, “since it was payment for murder.”

7 After some discussion they finally decided to buy the potter’s field, and they made it into a cemetery for foreigners.

8 That is why the field is still called the Field of Blood.

9 This fulfilled the prophecy of Jeremiah that says, “They took the thirty pieces of silver — the price at which he was valued by the people of Israel,

10 and purchased the potter’s field, as the LORD directed.”

1 朝早く、祭司長たちや民衆の長老たちは、イエスを死刑にする計画を立てるために、再び集まった。

2 そこで、彼らはイエスを縛り、連れて行き、ローマの総督ピラトのところに連れて行った。

3 自分を裏切ったユダは、イエスが死刑に処せられたことを知ると、自責の念にかられた。そこで、銀貨三十枚を有力な祭司と長老たちのところへ持ち帰った。

5 そこで、ユダは銀貨を神殿に投げ捨て、出て行って首をつった。

11 Now Jesus was standing before Pilate, the Roman governor. “Are you the king of the Jews?” the governor asked him. Jesus replied, “You have said it.”

12 But when the leading priests and the elders made their accusations against him, Jesus remained silent.

13 “Don’t you hear all these charges they are bringing against you?” Pilate demanded.

14 But Jesus made no response to any of the charges, much to the governor’s surprise.

15 Now it was the governor’s custom each year during the Passover celebration to release one prisoner to the crowd — anyone they wanted.

16 This year there was a notorious prisoner, a man named Barabbas.

17 As the crowds gathered before Pilate’s house that morning, he asked them, “Which one do you want me to release to you — Barabbas, or Jesus who is called the Messiah?”

18 (He knew very well that the religious leaders had arrested Jesus out of envy.)

19 Just then, as Pilate was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent him this message: “Leave that innocent man alone. I suffered through a terrible nightmare about him last night.”

20 Meanwhile, the leading priests and the elders persuaded the crowd to ask for Barabbas to be released and for Jesus to be put to death.

21 So the governor asked again, “Which of these two do you want me to release to you?” The crowd shouted back, “Barabbas!”

22 Pilate responded, “Then what should I do with Jesus who is called the Messiah?” They shouted back, “Crucify him!”

23 “Why?” Pilate demanded. “What crime has he committed?”  But the mob roared even louder, “Crucify him!”

24 Pilate saw that he wasn’t getting anywhere and that a riot was developing. So he sent for a bowl of water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of this man’s blood. The responsibility is yours!”

25 And all the people yelled back, “We will take responsibility for his death — we and our children!”

26 So Pilate released Barabbas to them. He ordered Jesus flogged with a lead-tipped whip, then turned him over to the Roman soldiers to be crucified.

11 さて、イエスはローマの総督ピラトの前に立たされた。総督は彼に「あなたはユダヤ人の王ですか」と尋ねた。イエスは、”あなたがたがそう言ったのだ “と答えた。

12 しかし、有力な祭司たちや長老たちが彼に対する非難をすると、イエスは黙ったままであった。

13 “あなたは、彼らがあなたに対して行っているこれらの告発をすべて聞いていないのですか”。とピラトは要求した。

14 しかし、イエスはどのような訴えにも応じないので、総督は大いに驚いた。

15 さて、毎年過越祭りの時期になると、総督は一人の囚人を群衆に解放する慣わしになっていた。

16 今年は、バラバという名の悪名高い囚人がいた。

17 その朝、群衆がピラトの家の前に集まってきたので、ピラトは彼らに尋ねた、「バラバと、メシアと呼ばれているイエスと、どちらを釈放してほしいのか」。

22 ピラトは答えた、「では、メシアと呼ばれているイエスをどうすればよいのですか」。群衆は叫んだ、「十字架につけろ！」。

23 “なぜだ？” ピラトは要求した。”彼はどんな罪を犯したのか” しかし、群衆はさらに大声で叫んだ。”彼を十字架につけろ!”

26 そこで、ピラトはバラバを彼らに解放した。そして、イエスを鉛の先で鞭打つように命じ、十字架につけるためにローマ兵に引き渡した。

27 Some of the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into their headquarters and called out the entire regiment.

28 They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him.

29 They wove thorn branches into a crown and put it on his head, and they placed a reed stick in his right hand as a scepter. Then they knelt before him in mockery and taunted, “Hail! King of the Jews!”

30 And they spit on him and grabbed the stick and struck him on the head with it.

31 When they were finally tired of mocking him, they took off the robe and put his own clothes on him again. Then they led him away to be crucified.

27 総督の兵士の一部がイエスを本部に連れて行き、連隊全員を呼び寄せた。

28 彼らは、彼の身ぐるみをはいで、緋色の衣を着せた。

32 Along the way, they came across a man named Simon, who was from Cyrene, and the soldiers forced him to carry Jesus’ cross.

33 And they went out to a place called Golgotha (which means “Place of the Skull”).

34 The soldiers gave him wine mixed with bitter gall, but when he had tasted it, he refused to drink it.

35 After they had nailed him to the cross, the soldiers gambled for his clothes by throwing dice.

36 Then they sat around and kept guard as he hung there.

37 A sign was fastened above Jesus’ head, announcing the charge against him. It read: “This is Jesus, the King of the Jews.”

38 Two revolutionaries were crucified with him, one on his right and one on his left.

39 The people passing by shouted abuse, shaking their heads in mockery.

40 “Look at you now!” they yelled at him. “You said you were going to destroy the Temple and rebuild it in three days. Well then, if you are the Son of God, save yourself and come down from the cross!”

41 The leading priests, the teachers of religious law, and the elders also mocked Jesus.

42 “He saved others,” they scoffed, “but he can’t save himself! So he is the King of Israel, is he? Let him come down from the cross right now, and we will believe in him!

43 He trusted God, so let God rescue him now if he wants him! For he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’”

44 Even the revolutionaries who were crucified with him ridiculed him in the same way.

32 途中で、キレネ出身のシモンという人に出くわし、兵士たちは彼にイエスの十字架を担がせるようにした。

33 そして、ゴルゴダ（「髑髏の場所」の意）と呼ばれる場所に出て行った。

45 At noon, darkness fell across the whole land until three o’clock.

46 At about three o’clock, Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?”

47 Some of the bystanders misunderstood and thought he was calling for the prophet Elijah.

48 One of them ran and filled a sponge with sour wine, holding it up to him on a reed stick so he could drink.

49 But the rest said, “Wait! Let’s see whether Elijah comes to save him.” (And another took a spear and pierced his side, and out flowed water and blood.)

50 Then Jesus shouted out again, and he released his spirit.

51 At that moment the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, rocks split apart,

52 and tombs opened. The bodies of many godly men and women who had died were raised from the dead.

53 They left the cemetery after Jesus’ resurrection, went into the holy city of Jerusalem, and appeared to many people.

54 The Roman officer and the other soldiers at the crucifixion were terrified by the earthquake and all that had happened. They said, “This man truly was the Son of God!”

55 And many women who had come from Galilee with Jesus to care for him were watching from a distance.

56 Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary (the mother of James and Joseph), and the mother of James and John, the sons of Zebedee.

45 正午になると、三時まで全地域に闇が訪れた。

46 三時ごろ、イエスは大声で呼ばれた、「エリ、エリ、レマ・サバクタニ」。私の神よ、私の神よ、何故、私を見捨てたのですか？

52 墓が開いた。死んでいた多くの神々しい男女の死体がよみがえったのである。

53 彼らはイエスの復活の後、墓地を出て、聖なる都エルサレムに行き、多くの人々に姿を現した。

54 十字架につけられていたローマの将校やほかの兵士たちは、地震や起こったことすべてに恐れをなした。彼らは言った、”この人は本当に神の子であった！”と。

55 また、イエスと一緒にガリラヤからやって来て世話をしていた多くの女たちが、遠くから見ていた。

56 その中には、マグダラのマリア、マリア（ヤコブとヨセフの母）、ゼベダイの子ヤコブとヨハネの母がいた。

57 As evening approached, Joseph, a rich man from Arimathea who had become a follower of Jesus,

58 went to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body. And Pilate issued an order to release it to him.

59 Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a long sheet of clean linen cloth.

60 He placed it in his own new tomb, which had been carved out of the rock. Then he rolled a great stone across the entrance and left.

61 Both Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting across from the tomb and watching.

62 The next day, on the Sabbath, the leading priests and Pharisees went to see Pilate.

63 They told him, “Sir, we remember what that deceiver once said while he was still alive: ‘After three days I will rise from the dead.’

64 So we request that you seal the tomb until the third day. This will prevent his disciples from coming and stealing his body and then telling everyone he was raised from the dead! If that happens, we’ll be worse off than we were at first.”

65 Pilate replied, “Take guards and secure it the best you can.”

66 So they sealed the tomb and posted guards to protect it.

62 翌日の安息日、有力な祭司とファリサイ派の人々がピラトのもとを訪れた。

63 彼らはピラトに言った、「先生、私たちは、あの詐欺師がかつて生きている間に言ったことを思い出します、『三日の後に死者の中からよみがえる』と。

65 ピラトは答えた、「見張りをつけて、できる限りの安全を確保しなさい」。

66 そこで、彼らは墓を封印し、それを守るために衛兵を配置した。

1 Early on Sunday morning, as the new day was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went out to visit the tomb.

2 Suddenly there was a great earthquake! For an angel of the Lord came down from heaven, rolled aside the stone, and sat on it.

3 His face shone like lightning, and his clothing was as white as snow.

4 The guards shook with fear when they saw him, and they fell into a dead faint.

5 Then the angel spoke to the women. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.

6 He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying.

7 And now, go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and he is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there. Remember what I have told you.”

8 The women ran quickly from the tomb. They were very frightened but also filled with great joy, and they rushed to give the disciples the angel’s message.

9 And as they went, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they ran to him, grasped his feet, and worshiped him.

10 Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t be afraid! Go tell my brothers to leave for Galilee, and they will see me there.”

1 日曜日の朝早く、新しい日が明けると、マグダラのマリアとほかのマリアは、墓を訪ねに出かけた。

2 突然、大きな地震があった。主の使いが天から下って来て、石を転がし、その上に座ったからである。

3 その顔は稲妻のように輝き、その衣は雪のように真っ白であった。

4 警備兵は彼を見て恐れおののき、気を失って倒れた。

5 そこで、天使は女たちに語りかけた。”恐れることはない！”と言った。「あなたがたが十字架につけられたイエスを捜しているのは知っています。

6 イエスはここにおられません。6 ここにおられません！ イエス様は死者の中からよみがえられたのです。さあ、彼の死体が横たわっていた場所を見なさい。

7 さて、急いで行って、弟子たちに、イエスが死人の中からよみがえり、あなたたちより先にガリラヤに行くことを告げなさい。あなたがたはそこで彼に会うことができる。私が話したことを忘れないでください。

8 女たちは、墓から急いで走って行った。彼女たちは非常に恐ろしかったが、大きな喜びにも満たされ、急いで弟子たちに天使のメッセージを伝えた。

11 As the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and told the leading priests what had happened.

12 A meeting with the elders was called, and they decided to give the soldiers a large bribe.

13 They told the soldiers, “You must say, ‘Jesus’ disciples came during the night while we were sleeping, and they stole his body.’

14 If the governor hears about it, we’ll stand up for you so you won’t get in trouble.”

15 So the guards accepted the bribe and said what they were told to say. Their story spread widely among the Jews, and they still tell it today.

11 女たちが行く途中、衛兵のうちの何人かが都に入り、有力な祭司たちに事の次第を告げた。

12 長老たちの会議が招集され、兵士たちに多額の賄賂を渡すことにした。

13 彼らは兵士たちに言った、「『イエスの弟子たちが、私たちが寝ている夜の間にやって来て、イエスの死体を盗んだ』と言わなければなりません。

14 もし、総督がそのことを耳にしたら、あなたがたに迷惑がかからないように、私たちが立ちあがります”。

15 そこで、衛兵たちは賄賂を受け取り、言われたとおりのことを言った。彼らの話はユダヤ人の間に広く伝わり、今日でも語り継がれている。

Make disciples of all the nattons

16 Then the eleven disciples left for Galilee, going to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.

17 When they saw him, they worshiped him — but some of them doubted!

18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.

19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

すべての国の人々を弟子としなさい。

16 それから、十一人の弟子たちはガリラヤに向かって出発し、イエスが行くようにと言われた山へ行った。

17 彼らはイエスを見て、彼を拝んだが、ある者は疑っていた。

18 イエスは来て弟子たちに言われた、「わたしには、天と地のすべての権威が与えられている。

19 だから、行って、すべての国の人々を弟子とし、父と子と聖霊の名によってバプテスマを授けなさい。

20 この新しい弟子たちには、わたしがあなたがたに与えたすべての命令に従うように教えなさい。そして、このことを確信しなさい。わたしは、時代の終わりまで、いつもあなたがたとともにいるのだ。
