3-1 ヨハネ黙示録1-3

1:1 This is the Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things which must happen soon, which he sent and made known by his angel {or, messenger (here and wherever angel is mentioned)} to his servant, John,

1:2 who testified to God’s word, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, about everything that he saw.

1:3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things that are written in it, for the time is at hand.

1:4 John, to the seven assemblies that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace, from God, who is and who was and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits who are before his throne;

1:5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us, and washed us from our sins by his blood;

1:6 and he made us to be a Kingdom, priests {Exodus 19:6; Isaiah 61:6} to his God and Father; to him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

1:7 Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, including those who pierced him. All the tribes of the earth will mourn over him. Even so, Amen.

1:8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, {TR adds “the Beginning and the End”}” says the Lord God, {TR omits “God”} “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

1:1イエス・キリストの黙示。この黙示は、神が、時がきたらただちに起るべきことをイエスのしもべたちに示すためキリストに与え、そして、キリストが、御使をつかわして、しもべヨハネに伝えられたものである。

1:7見よ、彼は、雲に乗ってこられる。すべての人の目、ことに、彼を刺しとおした者たち（ユダヤ人）は、彼を仰ぎ見るであろう。また地上の諸族はみな（全人類）、彼のゆえに胸を打って嘆くであろう。しかり、アァメン。

1:9 I John, your brother and partner with you in oppression, Kingdom, and perseverance in Christ Jesus, was on the isle that is called Patmos because of God’s Word and the testimony of Jesus Christ.

1:10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, like a trumpet

1:11 saying, ” {TR adds “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last.”}What you see, write in a book and send to the seven assemblies {TR adds “which are in Asia”}: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.”

1:9私、ヨハネは。あなたがたの兄弟であります。あなた方と共に、イエス・キリストの苦難と御国と忍耐とにあずかっているものです。わたしヨハネは、神の言とイエスのあかしとのゆえに、パトモスという島にいます。

1:12 I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. Having turned, I saw seven golden lampstands.

1:13 And among the lampstands was one like a son of man, {Daniel 7:13} clothed with a robe reaching down to his feet, and with a golden sash around his chest.

1:14 His head and his hair were white as white wool, like snow.
His eyes were like a flame of fire.

1:15 His feet were like burnished brass, as if it had been refined in a furnace. His voice was like the voice of many waters.

1:16 He had seven stars in his right hand. Out of his mouth proceeded a sharp two-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining at its brightest.

1:17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead man. He laid his right hand on me, saying, “Don’t be afraid. I am the first and the last,

1:18 and the Living one. I was dead,
and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. I have the keys of Death and of Hades {or, Hell}.

1:19 Write therefore the things which you have seen,
and the things which are,
and the things which will happen hereafter;

1:20 the mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lampstands. The seven stars are the angels {or, messengers (here and wherever angels are mentioned)} of the seven assemblies. The seven lampstands are seven assemblies.

1:12そこでわたしは、わたしに呼びかけたその声を見ようとしてふりむいた。ふりむくと、七つの金の燭台が目についた。

1:13それらの燭台の間に、足までたれた上着を着、胸に金の帯をしめている人の子(メシアの称号）のような者がいた。

1:14そのかしらと髪の毛とは、雪のように白い羊毛に似て真白であった。
目は燃える炎のようであった。

1:15その足は、炉で精錬されて光り輝くしんちゅうのようであった。
声は大水のとどろきのようであった。

1:20あなたがわたしの右手に見た七つの星と、七つの金の燭台との奥義は、こうである。すなわち、七つの星は七つの教会の御使であり、七つの燭台は七つの教会である。

2:1 “To the angel of the assembly in Ephesus write: “He who holds the seven stars in his right hand, he who walks among the seven golden lampstands says these things:

2:2 “I know your works, and your toil and perseverance, and that you can’t tolerate evil men, and have tested those who call themselves apostles, and they are not, and found them false.

2:3 You have perseverance and have endured for my name’s sake, and have {TR adds “have labored and”} not grown weary.

2:4 But I have this against you, that you left your first love.

2:5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen, and repent and do the first works; or else I am coming to you swiftly, and will move your lampstand out of its place, unless you repent.

2:6 But this you have, that you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

2:7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. To him who overcomes I will give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of my God.

2:1エペソにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『右の手に七つの星を持つ者、七つの金の燭台の間を歩く者が、次のように言われる。

2:2わたしは、あなたのわざと労苦と忍耐とを知っている。また、あなたが、悪い者たちをゆるしておくことができず、使徒と自称してはいるが、その実、使徒でない者たちをためしてみて、にせ者であると見抜いたことも、知っている。

2:3あなたは忍耐をし続け、わたしの名のために忍びとおして、弱り果てることがなかった。

2:4しかし、あなたに対して責むべきことがある。あなたは初めの愛から離れてしまった。

2:5そこで、あなたはどこから落ちたかを思い起し、悔い改めて初めのわざ(愛）を行いなさい。もし、そうしないで悔い改めなければ、わたしはあなたのところにきて、あなたの燭台をその場所から取りのけよう。

2:6しかし、こういうことはある、あなたはニコライ宗の人々のわざを憎んでおり、わたしもそれを憎んでいる。

2:7耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい。勝利を得る者には、神のパラダイスにあるいのちの木の実を食べることをゆるそう』。

2:8 “To the angel of the assembly in Smyrna write: “The first and the last, who was dead, and has come to life says these things:

2:9 “I know your works, oppression, and your poverty (but you are rich), and the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews, and they are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.

2:10 Don’t be afraid of the things which you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested; and you will have oppression for ten days. Be faithful to death, and I will give you the crown of life.

2:11 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. He who overcomes won’t be harmed by the second death.

2:8スミルナにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『初めであり、終りである者、死んだことはあるが生き返った者が、次のように言われる。

2:9わたしは、あなた方の苦しみや、物質的な貧しさも知っている（しかし実際は、あなたは霊的に富んでいるのだ）。また、ユダヤ人（神を称える人）というが、神を称える人ではなく、彼らに冒涜されていることを知っている。サタンのシナゴーグに属する者たちに冒涜されていることだ。わたしは知っている。

2:10あなたの受けようとする苦しみを恐れてはならない。見よ、悪魔があなた方の何人かを牢獄に入れようとしています。試練で試そうとしています。あなたがたは十日の間、苦しみにあうでしょう。死に至るまで忠実であれ。そうすれば、いのちの冠を与えよう。

2:12 “To the angel of the assembly in Pergamum write: “He who has the sharp two-edged sword says these things:

2:13 “I know your works and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. You hold firmly to my name, and didn’t deny my faith in the days of Antipas my witness, my faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.

2:14 But I have a few things against you, because you have there some who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to throw a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.

2:15 So you also have some who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans likewise {TR reads “which I hate” instead of “likewise”}.

2:16 Repent therefore, or else I am coming to you quickly, and I will make war against them with the sword of my mouth.

2:17 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. To him who overcomes, to him I will give of the hidden manna, {Manna is supernatural food, named after the Hebrew for “What is it?”. See Exodus 11:7-9.} and I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written, which no one knows but he who receives it.

2:12ペルガモにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『鋭いもろ刃のつるぎを持っているかたが、次のように言われる。

2:13わたしはあなたの住んでいる所を知っている。そこにはサタンの座がある。あなたは、わたしの名を堅く持ちつづけ、わたしの忠実な証人アンテパスがサタンの住んでいるあなたがたの所で殺された時でさえ、わたしに対する信仰を捨てなかった。

2:14しかし、あなたに対して責むべきことが、少しばかりある。あなたがたの中には、現にバラムの教を奉じている者がある。バラム（異教の予言者）は、バラクに教え込み、イスラエルの子らの前に、つまずきになるものを置かせて、偶像にささげたものを食べさせ、また不品行をさせたのである。

2:15同じように、あなたがたの中には、ニコライ派（キリスト教内の階級制）の教を奉じている者もいる。

2:16だから、悔い改めなさい。そうしないと、わたしはすぐにあなたのところに行き、わたしの口のつるぎをもって彼らと戦おう。

2:17耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい。勝利を得る者には、隠されているマナ（キリストとの交わり）を与えよう。また、白い石（罪赦されているた勝利者が集まる宴会の入場証）を与えよう。この石の上には、これを受ける者のほかだれも知らない新しい名が書いてある』。

2:18 “To the angel of the assembly in Thyatira write: “The Son of God, who has his eyes like a flame of fire, and his feet are like burnished brass, says these things:

2:19 “I know your works, your love, faith, service, patient endurance, and that your last works are more than the first.

2:20 But I have this against you, that you tolerate your {TR, NU read “that” instead of “your”} woman, Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. She teaches and seduces my servants to commit sexual immorality, and to eat things sacrificed to idols.

2:21 I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality.

2:22 Behold, I will throw her into a bed, and those who commit adultery with her into great oppression, unless they repent of her works.

2:23 I will kill her children with Death, and all the assemblies will know that I am he who searches the minds and hearts. I will give to each one of you according to your deeds.

2:24 But to you I say, to the rest who are in Thyatira, as many as don’t have this teaching, who don’t know what some call ‘the deep things of Satan,’ to you I say, I am not putting any other burden on you.

2:25 Nevertheless, hold that which you have firmly until I come.

2:26 He who overcomes, and he who keeps my works to the end, to him I will give authority over the nations.

2:27 He will rule them with a rod of iron, shattering them like clay pots; {Psalm 2:9} as I also have received of my Father:

2:28 and I will give him the morning star.

2:29 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.

2:18テアテラにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『燃える炎のような目と光り輝くしんちゅうのような足とを持った神の子が、次のように言われる。

2:19わたしは、あなたのわざと、あなたの愛と信仰と奉仕と忍耐とを知っている。また、あなたの後のわざが、初めのよりもまさっていることを知っている。

2:20しかし、あなたに対して責むべきことがある。あなたは、あのイゼベルという女を、そのなすがままにさせている。この女は女預言者と自称しています。彼女はわたしのしもべたちに不品行（性的不道徳）を犯し、偶像に捧げられたものを食べるように教え、誘惑します。

2:21わたしはこの女に悔い改める時間を与えましたが、この女は性的不道徳を悔い改めようとはしません。

2:22見よ、わたしはこの女を病の床に投げ入れる。この女と姦淫する者をも、悔い改めて彼女のわざから離れなければ、大きな患難の中に投げ入れます。

2:23また、この女の子供たちをも打ち殺します。こうしてすべての教会は、わたしが人の心の奥底までも探り知る者であることを悟るでしょう。そしてわたしは、あなたがたひとりびとりのわざに応じて報いましょう。

2:24また、テアテラにいるほかの人たちで、まだあの女の教を受けておらず、サタンの、いわゆる「深み」を知らないあなたがたに言う。わたしは別にほかの重荷を、あなたがたに負わせることはしない。

2:25ただ、わたしが来る時まで、自分の持っているものを堅く保っていなさい。

2:26勝利を得る者、わたしのわざを最後まで持ち続ける者には、諸国民を支配する権威を授けましょう。

2:27彼は鉄のつえをもって、ちょうど土の器を砕くように、彼らを治めるであろう。それは、わたし自身が父から権威を受けて治めるのと同様でります。

2:28わたしはまた、彼に明けの明星を与えよう。

2:29耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい』。

3:1 “And to the angel of the assembly in Sardis write: “He who has the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars says these things: “I know your works, that you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead.

3:2 Wake up, and keep the things that remain, which you were about to throw away, for I have found no works of yours perfected before my God.

3:3 Remember therefore how you have received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If therefore you won’t watch, I will come as a thief, and you won’t know what hour I will come upon you.

3:4 Nevertheless you have a few names in Sardis that did not defile their garments. They will walk with me in white, for they are worthy.

3:5 He who overcomes will be arrayed in white garments, and I will in no way blot his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

3:6 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.

3:1サルデスにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『神の七つの霊と七つの星とを持つかたが、次のように言われる。わたしはあなたのわざを知っている。すなわち、あなたは、生きているというのは名だけで、実は死んでいる。

3:2目をさましていて、死にかけている残りの者たちを力づけなさい。わたしは、あなたのわざが、わたしの神のみまえに完全であるとは見ていない。

3:3だから、あなたが、どのようにして受けたか、また聞いたかを思い起して、それを守りとおし、かつ悔い改めなさい。もし目をさましていないなら、わたしは盗人のように来るであろう。どんな時にあなたのところに来るか、あなたには決してわからない。

3:4しかし、サルデスにはその衣を汚さない人が、数人いる。彼らは白い衣を着て、わたしと共に歩みを続けるであろう。彼らは、それにふさわしい者である。

3:7 “To the angel of the assembly in Philadelphia write: “He who is holy, he who is true, he who has the key of David, he who opens and no one can shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says these things:

3:8 “I know your works (behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one can shut), that you have a little power, and kept my word, and didn’t deny my name.

3:9 Behold, I give of the synagogue of Satan, of those who say they are Jews, and they are not, but lie. Behold, I will make them to come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.

3:10 Because you kept my command to endure, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, which is to come on the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

3:11 I am coming quickly! Hold firmly that which you have, so that no one takes your crown.

3:12 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he will go out from there no more. I will write on him
the name of my God, and
the name of the city of my God,
the new Jerusalem,
which comes down out of heaven from my God, and my own new name.

3:13 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.

3:7ヒラデルヒヤにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『聖なる者、まことなる者、ダビデのかぎを持つ者（神の霊的な鍵）、彼が（伝道と奉仕の扉を）開けばだれにも閉じられることがなく、閉じればだれにも開かれることのない者が、次のように言われる。

3:8わたしは、あなたのわざを知っている。見よ、わたしは、あなたの前に、だれも閉じることのできない門を開いておいた。なぜなら、あなたには少ししか力がなかったにもかかわらず、わたしの言葉を守り、わたしの名を否まなかったからである。

3:9見よ、サタンの会堂に属する者、すなわち、ユダヤ人（神を称える人）と自称してはいるが、その実、神を称える人でなくて、偽る者たちに、こうしよう。見よ、彼らがあなたの足もとにきて平伏するようにし、そして、わたしがあなたを愛していることを、彼らに知らせよう。

3:10忍耐についてのわたしの言葉をあなたが守ったから、わたしも、地上に住む者たちをためすために、全世界に臨もうとしている試錬の時に、あなたを防ぎ守ろう。

3:11わたしは、すぐに来る。あなたの冠がだれにも奪われないように、自分の持っているものを堅く守っていなさい。

3:12勝利を得る者を、わたしの神の聖所における柱にしよう。彼は決して二度と外へ出ることはない。そして彼の上に、わたしの神の御名と、わたしの神の都、すなわち、天とわたしの神のみもとから下ってくる新しいエルサレムの名と、わたしの新しい名とを、書きつけよう。

3:13耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい』。

3:14 “To the angel of the assembly in Laodicea write: “The Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Head of God’s creation, says these things:

3:15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or hot.

3:16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of my mouth.

3:17 Because you say, ‘I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing;’ and don’t know that you are the wretched one, miserable, poor, blind, and naked;

3:18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, that you may become rich; and white garments, that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see.

3:19 As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent.

3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me.

3:21 He who overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne.

3:22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.”

3:14ラオデキヤにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『アァメンたる者、忠実な、まことの証人、神に造られたものの根源であるかたが、次のように言われる。

3:15わたしはあなたのわざを知っている。あなたは冷たくもなく、熱くもない。むしろ、冷たいか熱いかであってほしい。

3:16このように、熱くもなく、冷たくもなく、なまぬるいので、あなたを口から吐き出そう。

3:17あなたは、自分は富んでいる、豊かになった、なんの不自由もないと言っているが、実は、あなた自身がみじめな者、あわれむべき者、貧しい者、目の見えない者、裸な者であることに気がついていない。

3:18そこで、あなたに勧める。富む者となるために、わたしから火で精錬された金を買い、また、あなたの裸の恥をさらさないため身に着けるように、白い衣を買いなさい。また、見えるようになるため、目にぬる目薬を買いなさい。

3:19すべてわたしの愛している者を、わたしはしかったり、懲らしめたりする。だから、熱心になって悔い改めなさい。

3:20見よ、わたしは戸の外に立って、たたいている。だれでもわたしの声を聞いて戸をあけるなら、わたしはその中にはいって彼と食を共にし、彼もまたわたしと食を共にするであろう。

3:21勝利を得る者には、わたしと共にわたしの座につかせよう。それはちょうど、わたしが勝利を得てわたしの父と共にその御座についたのと同様である。

3:22耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい』」。
